ABOUT V
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
My name is Val King, and I was born in NYC, but I have lived in Orlando since the age of 7, growing up in Oviedo, FL. Outside of my career, my interests are many. I love my family, traveling, playing golf, watching football, music, learning, meeting new people...and anything that will lead me to a friendly competition or adventure!
My art interests are deep-rooted in Orlando. I started designing at a young age, detailing motorcycles in grade school, fell in love with technical writing and editing in high school, and was already studying design and photography as the sports editor of my yearbook. My passion for art, technology, education, and people, has motivated me to master many skills.
I am a former educator in the field for 17 years. I taught at Howard Academy of Arts my entire tenure.
I was an intensive reading teacher from 2005-2012 and an Instructional Reading Coach from 2009-2012, where I also created instructional designs for teachers to support technology and learning. I taught art history, photography, and videography and advised the yearbook publications and TV production courses from 2013-2022. In my final eight years, I taught Intermediate and advanced digital art/graphic design courses where I worked with Career Technical Education (CTE) and helped over 300 students earn their Industry Certifications with Adobe Illustrator. I am currently an authorized proctor with Certiport.
In 2022-2023, I became an independent contractor for ATR International, working alongside NBC/Comcast and creating instructional design materials, digital adoption platforms, graphics, demos, and sizzle videos.
As 2024 begins, I have accepted a full-time management position, officially joining the Comcast/NBC family remotely as a Portfolio Product Manager for Learning Engagement- Xfinity/Comcast Business.
I want to take my experience in Education and Digital Design and now truly understand Business Needs, being fortunate enough to work with this multi-billion-dollar company and bring them to you, helping Individuals get the same level of design quality with fair upfront pricing.
